About Jaap Kronenberg
Jaap Kronenberg qualified as a lawyer in 1986 after completing his studies at Utrecht University. He was responsible for setting up the Intellectual Property (IP) and IT law group at Dirkzwager. He specialises in consultancy and litigation in relation to copyright law, trademarks, patents, models, trade names, databases and know-how. This also includes consultancy on cooperation in research development projects and exploitation (of IP rights) by means of licensing agreements. He also knows the ins and outs of advertising law and unlawful publications. Jaap is also an experienced consultant in IT disputes, the drafting and negotiation of IT contracts, the development and exploitation of concepts in e-commerce as well as privacy issues. His clients include (international) businesses in the industry and retail sectors, research institutes, universities, Universities of Applied Sciences and organisations in healthcare and the arts. Jaap is a member of Dutch Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the Benelux Association of Trademark and Design Law and the Vereniging voor Auteursrecht (Association for Copyright Law). He is an avid lover of design furniture, classical music and mountains. Jaap plays an active role in the community through various board positions in the arts and the healthcare sector.
