Koen Christianen AttorneyIntellectual Property and IT law
About Koen Christianen
Koen has been a lawyer since 2015 and works in the Intellectual Property (IP), IT Law and Privacy department of Dirkzwager. His daily practice focuses mainly on IT law and privacy. Koen started out studying Innovation Sciences (2008) at Eindhoven University of Technology. During this course, he came into contact with intellectual property law and developed an interest in that field. To deepen his knowledge of general law, he then decided to read law at Tilburg University. During his Law Technology course there (2011), he specialised in the regulation of innovative technology, taking a particularly strong interest in IP, IT and privacy. Koen gained work experience in these areas of law at a niche practice in Amsterdam that specialises in intellectual property law, and in the IP/TMT department of a large international practice in Utrecht. In addition, Koen has also worked as a legal researcher at the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology and Society (TILT). Koen's tasks at this research institute specialising in technology regulation included scientific research into the legal and social implications of emerging technologies. Before joining Dirkzwager, Koen also worked for a large Dutch healthcare insurer.
