Henriek Kragt Lawyer - Partner Liability & Insurance

I began my career as a lawyer in 1996 and I initially worked in a general advice and litigation practice in Amsterdam. Here, I specialised in liability and insurance law, taking a particular interest in the issues surrounding personal injury as a result of traffic accidents, accidents at work, medical negligence and/or other accidents. From 2000 onwards, I worked to expand my knowledge and experience at a reputable Utrecht-based law firm and I also completed the Personal Injury training course at Grotius Academy. I have been a senior lawyer in the Liability, Loss and Insurance group of Dirkzwager legal & tax since 2007. I will predominantly support insurers and companies in the area of personal injury and loss, both in an advisory and litigation role. I am also increasingly involved with alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as mediation. In addition to this, I contribute as a speaker at seminars on a wide range of topics such as employer liability, 'trendy' illness(es), procedural law and fraud. In addition, I deliver a masterclass on  ‘medical liability’ at Catholic University of Nijmegen and I lecture at PAO/CPO on recent developments such as the bill on emotional loss and healthcare costs (wetsvoorstel zorg- en affectieschade). In order to expand my knowledge and keep abreast of new developments and discuss them with other subject matter experts, I hold memberhsips of the Dutch Assocation for Personal Injury Lawyers (Vereniging Letselschade Advocaten, LSA), the Association for Insurance Research (Vereniging voor Verzekeringswetenschappen) and the Association for Liability Law and Compensation Legislation (Vereniging voor Aansprakelijkheids- en Schadevergoedingsrecht).
