Biography

José has worked at Dirkzwager as a tax lawyer since 2020, specialising in national and international wage tax, social insurance and cross-border employment. On topics such as remote working, participation schemes, fixed expense allowances, international secondments, company cars and the DBA Act/ false self-employment often come up in her practice. The art of capturing complex issues into easy readable notes, schematic overviews or accessible presentations is what makes José's work challenging and varied.

In addition to her work at Dirkzwager, José is an author for the Nextens LoonAlmanak.

Work highlights
  • Conducting a quick scan of payroll taxes, with the main aim of optimising cooperation between the HR and Finance departments.

  • Drafting policies on remote working, allowing employees to work temporarily or permanently from abroad.

  • Supervising international secondments, with José acting as the first point of contact for the director or employee being seconded, making gross-net calculations, drawing up contracts and applying for all necessary declarations and tax regulations.
