Biography
Joost was sworn in as a solicitor in 2021 and has been working at Dirkzwager since 2025. He specialises in energy law and advises and litigates on sector-specific legislation and regulations in the field of renewable energy, electricity, heat and gas (storage), as well as on the regulatory aspects of (renewable) energy projects and transactions.
Thanks to his broad knowledge of civil, environmental and administrative law, Joost is able to take an integrated approach to complex energy (transition) issues. He advises energy companies, network operators, project developers and government bodies on a wide range of energy law topics and represents clients in both civil and administrative proceedings.
Before joining Dirkzwager, Joost worked as an energy law solicitor at Stek. He is a member of the Dutch Energy Law Association and regularly publishes and lectures on his field of expertise.
