Biography

Lotte has been a lawyer since 2021. She works in the Government & Real Estate department. Among other things, Lotte specialises in rent law, construction law and other civil law issues. In doing so, Lotte assists a variety of clients, such as (semi-)government agencies, housing associations, healthcare institutions, investors and contractors.

Lotte's daily practice falls into a few pillars:

  • Contracting: drafting and studying, inter alia, rental agreements (both residential and commercial) and construction contracts (building contracts, construction team agreements, two-phase agreements, etc.);

     

  • Advising: advising clients on matters including lease terms and termination of leases. Lotte also advises on, inter alia, completion issues, defects and cost-increasing circumstances. The UAV 2012 and UAV-GC 2005 often play a role in her practice;

  • Litigation: assisting clients (if necessary up to the court or the Arbitration Council) in disputes concerning, inter alia, termination of the lease, contract variations, completion perils, defects and warning obligations.

Work highlights
  • Model Agreement Conceptual Construction - A new update of the Model Agreement Conceptual Construction with a reading guide was published on 1 February 2024. The Model Agreement was created under the leadership of Dirkzwager (Robert Rijpstra and Lotte Blum) through intensive efforts of members of the Conceptual Construction Network, Aedes and Bouwend Nederland. The Model contributes to simplifying and accelerating the construction task in the Netherlands.
