Biography
Milou is a lawyer in the Healthcare & Social Domain sector. She focuses on data protection in healthcare and general healthcare law, including patients’ rights, medical disciplinary law and the law on the quality of care. With her expertise in both data protection and healthcare law, Milou provides a wide range of clients, including healthcare providers, healthcare organisations, municipalities and public health services, providing practical, with all-round practical advice.
She also advises and, where necessary, represents clients in legal proceedings across a broad range of healthcare law matters. She has in-depth knowledge of the Dutch legal frameworks on patients’ rights and quality of care. She assists healthcare providers in complaints and dispute procedures and supports individual healthcare professionals in disciplinary proceedings.
In addition to her legal practice, Milou conducts research as an external PhD candidate at Radboud University. Her research focuses on the use of electronic health data for scientific research under the European Health Data Space Regulation.
