Charlotte is a senior corporate lawyer at Dirkzwager legal & tax and has combined academic research with legal practice for many years. She advises executive and supervisory directors across the full range of governance questions, from how boards, supervisory bodies and general meetings are constituted to collaboration between organisations, boardroom dynamics and matters of integrity. Her new chair follows on naturally from that work.
Charlotte was awarded her doctorate in 2020 for a multidisciplinary thesis on bias in the boardroom, and has published widely in leading journals and edited collections since. She also devised and co-edited the Handboek Semipubliek Ondernemingsrecht (2023), now treated as the standard work in this area of law. Charlotte sits on the Gecombineerde Commissie Vennootschapsrecht, the joint corporate law committee of the Dutch Bar Association and the Royal Notarial Association, as one of its practising-lawyer members.
