Practice area Employment law

The Employment Team consists of sixteen attorney’s focusing on employment (and pension) law. The team serves a wide range of clients, both in the profit and non-profit sector, both within the Arnhem-Nijmegen region and nationwide. Clients vary from local as well as (multi)national companies to (local) governments, healthcare and education institutions as well as individual employees. The team aims at delivering comprehensive advice as well as litigation services.

In addition to regular employment law advice, focus groups within the team safeguard specialist advice on all levels of expertise, e.g. with respect to privacy, compliance and pension issues.

Cross boarder issues are regularly dealt with through a dedicated focus group. Ample experience on restructuring (projects) is available within a Restructuring Team. A high level of expertise is available as regards EU migration of employees.

The team aims at closely cooperating with clients and legal (other professional) counterparts being fully transparent on costs and timing. A variety of expertise is available at reasonable hourly rates. Alternative fee arrangements are regularly agreed upon.

The team is also aware of clients preferring pragmatism above maintaining principles and wishing their attorney’s being available and flexible at all times as well as being prompt in their response.

We can advise and guide you in the following areas:

  • Employment contracts, CLA's and conditions of employment
  • Dismissal
  • Retirement
  • Collective redundancy, reorganisation and redundancy package
  • Co-determination
  • Compliance
  • Public service law

Advice in good time

Many problems can be prevented by properly arranging matters relating to employment law, beforehand. Therefore, it is sensible to obtain our input at an early stage for issues relating to employment law. We also advise (new start-up) businesses on the best possible structure for their employment law-related organisational aspects and help them make the right strategic choices.

Conflict mediation

If things should culminate in a dispute after all, it does not automatically have to lead to legal proceedings. In the first instance, we always endeavour to arrive at a solution through conflict mediation, without the involvement of a court. To achieve this, we invite both parties to discuss the situation, and this often results in a satisfactory solution.
