About Maartje ter Horst
Biography
Maartje has been a lawyer since 2011 and works in the corporate-law section of our Nijmegen office. She is mainly involved in financing, security and insolvency law and she is regularly appointed by the courts as receiver in bankruptcies. Maartje issues advice and litigates among other things about (bank) financing, guarantees, sureties, settlement, recourse and subrogation, attachment of the property (found on the premises) and divergent security rights. She also assists companies that are confronted with the bankruptcy of their other party, as creditor or security holder for example. Maartje also regularly conducts proceedings in the area of directors’ and officers’ liability and actio pauliana and she issues advice to clients in the area of restructuring, asset and liability transactions and restart from bankruptcy.
And finally, Maartje focuses on contract law in which connection she issues advice to clients about various national and international commercial contracts. This includes activities such as drawing up and assessing contracts, but issuing advice about the termination of a contract or conducting proceedings in case of disputes concerning compliance or claiming compensation is also part of Maartje’s practice.

Maartje is a member of INSOLAD, which is the specialist association of insolvency-law lawyers. She is also a member of the Association for Young Insolvency-law Lawyers (JIRA). Maartje is an author of SDU Commentaar Vermogensrecht. Maartje is also a member of Jong Management VNO-NCW Kring Arnhem/Nijmegen.
